Star Wars: The Force Awakens Box Office

The box office has been huge for the latest instalment of Star Wars. It's broken box office records around the world and it still hasn't been released in China, the second biggest film market. Obviously when it is adjusted to inflation, it won't come close to the box office champion Gone With the Wind. That's why I would prefer if the box office was measured by attendance, not in dollars or any other currency. A lot of the monetary figures for Episode VII have come from 3D and IMAX screenings.

It has been a blockbuster year for movies with Jurassic World and Star Wars: The Force Awakens shattering records. The movie industry always seems to survive even with innovations like streaming and home entertainment systems.
