Upcoming Releases

I like to keep an eye out for upcoming releases by regularly checking out the 'Coming Soon' section on the Event Cinemas website. Even though I visit other cinemas, my main chain is Event Cinemas:  https://www.eventcinemas.com.au/Movies/ComingSoon

Out of the 63 movies I have seen at the cinema this year, I have been to Event Cinemas Macquarie 47 times. This will be the lowest number I have seen at the movies during a calendar year during my adult life. The Covid pandemic has certainly changed my viewing habits. As mentioned previously, for several consecutive years pre-pandemic, I had seen over 200 movies at the cinema each year. Now with masks not compulsory and the unvaccinated allowed to attend, I can't see myself ever reaching these heights again until Covid becomes an endemic disease.

Looking at upcoming releases for the rest of this year, I don't have many left to see. I have already booked my tickets to see 'West Side Story' and 'Spider-Man: No Way Home'. 'Sing 2', 'The Matrix Resurrections' and 'Licorice Pizza' might also be movies that tempt me to see on the big screen. I definitely won't be passing 70 movies at the cinema this year.

I have many vouchers to use but luckily their expiry dates are a few years. I'm glad gift cards and vouchers don't have an expiry date of 12 months like they were once before. Anyway, if I were struggling to use them, I would simply see more movies in Gold Class. I'll actually be seeing 'Spider-Man: No Way Home' in Gold Class using my $25 Discover voucher provided by the NSW Government to stimulate the economy. Here's a tip...to avoid paying the booking fee, see a movie in Gold Class on a Tuesday using your Discover voucher then you won't have to pay a cent.

Happy viewing in the holidays!
