event cinemas

Event Cinemas: This website is very important to me as one of its cinemas is my local one and I see a lot of movies there. Now that session times are not printed in newspapers, it is crucial that I have them available at my fingertips and the website does a fairly good job in having these times 3-7 days in advance.

I am very fussy when it comes to finding a spot to sit so I'm able to see what seats are available and ask for that specific seat number when I get my ticket. I'm not a fan of allocated seating especially with the way they do it in Australia where the attendant asks if you would like to sit front, middle or back. They should operate like they do in Asian countries where you can see on the screen at the box office which seats are available.

Apart from seeing what movies are currently screening, there is a section for upcoming films which allows me to plan what to see in Australia and what to see overseas. However, there are occasionally some last minute changes to this upcoming films list.

I occasionally use the information they provide for the parental advice I give at the end of each of my movie reviews. This is the standard 'warning' the Australian Classification Board gives for each film that is released.

The booking system is easy and painless. I only use it when I claim my free ticket through the excellent Cinebuzz rewards scheme they have operating. You have to see 6-8 movies before you can claim a free standard 2D ticket.

Formerly known as Greater Union, Event Cinemas is doing a fine job with its website in looking after its customers. It's always an event to see a movie at Event Cinemas!
