felony

Felony (Drama): 79 out of 100: This gripping Australian film will hook you in from the outset with its interesting and engaging story. The main focus is on Joel Edgerton's character who is a model cop becoming involved in a car accident with a young boy, resulting in a huge impact on those around him such as family and colleagues.

Those who desire an action film will be left disappointed for the dramatic scenes generate all the slow-burning tension. Although there are quite a few scenes without dialogue, the predicament each major character faces allows for a rich characterisation. The cast delivers expressive, nuanced performances and even without dialogue, the viewer can empathise with the characters.

The music score brilliantly complements the dramatic tension, adding mood and atmosphere to the setting. The music is really effective during the scenes where the camera focuses on the characters' faces when there is no dialogue.

If you enjoy police movies, this should satisfy you. Just be prepared for more drama than action sequences and you will be suitably rewarded.
