earth to echo

Earth to Echo (Science Fiction/Adventure): 49 out of 100: Featuring a cast of no names, this blatant rip-off of "ET: The Extra Terrestrial" is one of those films where you need to have a strong stomach to sit through the hand-held camera used by the principal cast. Surely the use by date for these types of films is approaching.

It is 20-25 minutes before the alien appears and there's not really much that happens before then. Even when the alien "Echo" is on screen, there isn't the charm, magic and excitement that this film is paying homage to.

Not everything about this film is a basket case however. There are some impressive effects especially towards the end of the film, the music score is rapturous and the alien is often cute, which should appeal to little children.

If you are in the mood for a family friendly alien movie it's best to revisit "ET" than seeing this on the big screen where you'll need to close your eyes a few times if you suffer from motion sickness.
