imax theatre

IMAX Theatre, Sydney: Here is the biggest cinema in Sydney which is located in the tourist precinct of Darling Harbour. I've regularly been to this cinema each year since the mid 1990s to see documentaries and feature length films. Not once I have paid to see a movie there and that's a good thing because ticket prices are astronomical!

The screen is absolutely huge and the sound system is fantastic, making you feel like you're a part of the movie. When there is a movie with incredible sound effects, you can feel the vibrations. I always try my best to sit near the back in the middle of the screen because the sides are useless, especially for 3D films. As the screen is so huge, sometimes it's hard to focus on everything that is happening on the screen.

One major fault with the cinema is the design of the seats. They are not very comfortable and you will feel cramped because they don't provide enough room, especially for the ample-sized person. For a cinema charging adults $33.50 for a feature length film and $23 for a short documentary, you'd expect better.

The IMAX Theatre in Sydney is actually regarded as the world's biggest IMAX. If you consider yourself a genuine movie buff, you have to visit this cinema at least once a year. For more information, you can check out the official IMAX website here: https://www.imax.com.au/
