INTO THE storm

Into the Storm (Action/Thriller): 70 out of 100: For a movie with an unfamiliar cast, this 'disaster' movie is quite enjoyable. It must be seen at the cinema to savour the spectacular tornado visual effects and rip-roaring sound effects otherwise it loses a fair bit of impact on the small screen.

It's definitely a popcorn movie as there's nothing special about the characterisations. You wouldn't see this movie for its acting. A couple of daredevil characters are most annoying and are only included to try to inject some humour in to the story. The story itself is quite disposable as there's an attempt to build some character development but one is only holding out for the action scenes to begin. You do have to wait close to 30 minutes for the tornadoes to strike.

"Into the Storm" doesn't require you to strain your brain. It's effective for what it is, an enjoyable, at times, exciting piece of entertainment that could be placed in the guilty pleasure category.
