Brush With Fame
You would think that my love for movies and live entertainment would have resulted in more celebrity encounters. I have seen many celebrities starring in concerts and theatrical productions but haven't really met many famous people. There's only been the occasional brush with fame. Back in 2002, I saw Jackie Chan receive his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and he gave me a high five. 2005 was a highlight when Brooke Shields gave me a rose, albeit fake, when I was sitting in the front row of "Chicago" on Broadway in New York. That same year, I was sitting in the audience of Conan O'Brien's chat show when he asked where people were from and he shook my hand. This year I attended Paul Anka's concert and he too shook my hand. That's pretty much it. I don't go around chasing celebrities and they obviously don't go around chasing me. I have a work friend who must be a celebrity magnet because she has met so many and taken photos with them. I don't have any proof of my celebrity encounters so you'll just have to take my word for it.
